Mainland Series Goes Down To The Wire

Class placings are going down to the wire in this year's Mainland Series with final double-header points up for grabs at the KartSport Canterbury club's annual two-day Garden City Championships meeting at Christchurch's Carrs Road Raceway over the weekend.
For instance, can top local driver Louis Sharp hold off the hard charging James Black from Dunedin and Alex Crosbie from Invercargill to take out the Cadet ROK title for the third year in a row? Or can James put a stop to Sharp's dominance?
There's a similar scenario in Vortex Mini ROK where the question is, can Zac Christensen keep fellow Christchurch driver Liam Pink and Dunedin's Alex Patrick off the top step of the podium to claim that class title for his first time?

Dunedin's Josh Bethune has a handy lead in the Junior Rotax Max class points standings. But, again, is it enough to keep him ahead of Christchurch brothers Jack and Oscar Noble-Adams who are second and third respectively?
With Dunedin's Arron Black not able to contest the final two rounds of this year's Mainland Series Jarred Cleghorn should have an easy run to claim the Rotax Light title from fellow Christchurch karter Lewis Ball.
But the fight in that class will be for third with only six points separating Brodie Downing and Aleesha Morton.
Finally, it's closest at the top in Rotax Max Heavy with only 32 points in it. Dunedin's Mark Ahlfeld holds a slender lead over Kevin Barker from Nelson but with Dunedin's Ben Carter only a single point back it should be all in each Heavy heat.
Also up for grabs for the first time after this weekend's final double-header Mainland Series round in Christchurch is the mighty InterClub Cup. Can Canterbury hold off Dunedin and Southland to be the first to have their name engraved on the cup?
