  • EVENT - Entries for the Victorian State Cup at Warrnambool closes tomorrow (Friday, Nov 25). Formely the Vic Closed Titles, the State Cup continues the tradition of awarding special black plates to the winner in each class. All but one of the classes already has more than enough entries to be official. Supp Regs are HERE (an addendum has added KA4 Junior Heavy to the class list).

  • TEAM - The Harrington Doyle Racing Arrow Karts team will run two drivers in the KA1 class of the 2017 Australian Kart Championship. The team stated that Australia #1 in the class, Scotty Sorensen, will pilot his INOX Lubricants supported Arrow alongside Townsville teammate Luke Flynn. "Both will be out to collect as much silverware and as many AKC Shields as they can for our Team."

  • CLUB - VIDEO: Canberra Kart Club's Circuit Mark Webber has had a new starting and race control light gantry installed.


  • EVENT - Superkarts Australia has announced next year's SKA National series will be contested over two rounds:
    • Event 1 - 4th, 5th and 6th of March at Sydney Motorsport Park
    • Event 2 - 15th, 16th and 17th of September at Queensland Raceway

  • RULES - The 2017 Australian Karting Manual outlining the National Competition Rules for Karting Australia events next year is now available to download. There are two versions:
    • Marked Up version (showing additions & deletions) is HERE
    • 'Clean' version is HERE
    • KA's 2017 fee structure is HERE

  • EVENT - Registrations for the 2017 Rotax Pro Tour are about to open! (For more about Pro Tour, visit www.rotax.com.au)


  • TEAM - Patrizicorse should have no trouble moving the team karts and equipment to all the major race meetings around Australia next year, having formed a partnership with Italian truck company IVECO. The team says "Our new IVECO race transporter will be ready shortly... "

  • DRIVER - New Zealand's James Blair suffered significant injuries at SKUSA's SuperNationals last week. On-board footage of the incident from two sources was posted online, but has since been removed. It showed another competitor swerve aggresively across and into Blair while the Kiwi was making a basic pass on the main straight. Blair posted the accident "broke my neck, leg, foot and put me unconscious... I hope for the safety of all my fellow drivers that he is dealt with appropriately." This is how James' kart ended up...

  • EVENT - Speedway Karts are at Avalon this Sunday, November 27, for the Doug Drew Memorial.


  • DRIVER/EVENT - GT Asia Bentley Team driver and 2010 J-Max National champion, Jonathan Venter, has submitted an entry to contest the fourth and final round of the NSW KZ2 Super Series. The event takes place at Lincoln County Raceway, Dubbo, this Sunday. At the time of publication, 15 KZ2 drivers were set to contest the round.

  • VIDEO - OK Junior World Championship final, including pre-grid, race and trophy presentation. At one stage, Australia's Oscar Piastri was a chance for a podium. He ended up finishing sixth.


  • The 2017 ROK CUP USA race schedule has been announced. The series will once again consist of two regional championships (one in Florida, one in the Midwest) after which points will be merged for the National Final. Dates are:

  • INDUSTRY - California-based RaceAmerica Corporation has announced a "strategic partnership" with ALM Sales Pty Ltd of Melbourne. RaceAmerica provide track safety lighting, race timing, LED scoreboards and race management software. ALM Sales will provide representation and engineering expertise in Australia and New Zealand.
