Gippsland's November Race Day

  29 November 2016

The Gippsland club's final race day of the year was held on Sunday in perfect conditions. There were a couple of new and returning drivers on P-Plates at the round, plus quite a few spectators, so hopefully fields will grow for next year.

At the conclusion of racing, but before presentation, the club held a working bee. Most of the tyre barriers at the circuit are being reconfigured for next year. The current heavy car tyres (stacked and screwed four-high) are being replaced with lighter and more absorbant race car tyres which, because of their width, only need to go two-high.

Members at the meeting agreed to not run a club day in January, so the first event at Morwell for 2017 will be the February race day on the 26th. Also, the plan for next year is to have five races per class, giving even extra value for GGKC karters.

The club's activities for 2016 will conclude at the Christmas breakup and presentation party at the track on December 11.
