Aaron Cameron Joins JC

press release 17 January 2017

Aaron Cameron will campaign a JC Kart for the upcoming 2017 Australian Kart Championship presented by Jayco and Castrol EDGE.

The Victorian teenager will line up in the brand led by two‐time World Karting Champion James Courtney in the elite KZ2 class as he looks to also further his motor racing career by competing in the one‐make Toyota 86 Series throughout the year.

After seeing Cameron show tremendous potential during his maiden year of senior competition, including an AKC round win and pole position at the Race of Stars, Courtney is excited about the youngster’s potential.

“After seeing first hand Aaron go about putting together the race weekend he did at the last round of the 2016 AKC at Todd Rd which culminated in him winning the final on Sunday, I’m excited to have him on board a JC Kart for 2017,” said Courtney.

“I really feel he has the ability to run at the front and hopefully challenge for a championship win.”

For Cameron, the opportunity to be guided by someone of Courtney’s caliber is a great opportunity.

“Last year was a great year for me being my first year in seniors and the KZ2 class. It was exciting to win the last round of the championship and qualify in pole at the Race of Stars, now I’m looking forward to carrying that momentum in 2017,” said Cameron, who was named in Auto Action’s Top Ten Karters for 2016.

“James, Jon and the entire JC Karts team have been amazing to provide me with this opportunity and I look forward to working again with my mechanic, William Yarwood from ProjectX.”

Cameron sampled the JC Kart for the first time last weekend during the second annual JC Karts team day with immediate speed. He will conduct another test day prior to the Australian Kart Championship opener in Newcastle on February 10‐12.
