The spectacular Orange kart track has been saved. Orange City Council was told at a meeting on Tuesday night that the track would be retained as part of a re-development of the area.
According to the centralwesterndaily.com.au website, the club has been “up in the air” for close to five years as plans emerged proposing a new 19-hectare caravan park adjacent to the Orange Kart Club’s home.
With uncertainty about the future, the club had held off certain upgrades and improvements to infrastructure.
“It’s a relief to now know that we’ll be able to stay for the next 50 years as well,” the club's Wayne Ogilvie told the site.
The undulating track has a long history and was first used for karting in 1963.
