Karting News Briefs

some event updates from around the country...

  • POSTPONEMENT - Combined Districts Kart Club has decided to postpone the April 2 race meeting. The club's committee believes there is a high risk that the track upgrades will not be ready in time. "We felt that we needed to give karters ample notice of this change" the club published. The “Col’s Castle Cup” meeting will now take place on Sunday, April 30. "The NSW weather in the last few weeks has seriously impacted the ability of contractors to be able to carry out the work required. Crack sealing around the circuit and repairs to several sections have been completed but we will need some dry weather to complete the re-surfacing."

  • IT'S ON - Organisers wish to inform karters that  the Bartercard Northern Zone Meeting is definitely on this weekend at Coffs Harbour:

  • CARNIVAL PR - "The 2017 Arise Racing Carnival of karts on the 8th and 9th of April continues its tradition of providing fantastic trophies and prizes with over $12,000 worth of cash and prizes up for grabs and trophies back to 5th in each class. Our random draw prizes will be a Tony Kart Cadet chassis for Cadet 9 & 12, the Jnr classes an IAME KA-100 and all Senior classes are in the draw for a PRD Galaxy 125. Any entered competitor is in with a chance, you just have to be at the presentations and able to collect your prize in person so make sure you stick around!! On top of all that the hotly contested TAG 125 classes (light and heavy) will be racing for $1000 cash each (1st $500, 2nd $350, 3rd $150) so this will really up the stakes and should make for some awesome racing. A new feature this year will be a vintage and classic kart display really adding to the “Carnival” atmosphere. Entries are now open on CMS, don’t be late or you won’t get your name and sponsors listed in the race program as we need to get the entry details to the printers a week before CMS close off. Don’t miss what will be one the biggest and best kart meetings this year!!!"

  • QLD STATES PR - "The Mackay Kart club will be in tip top condition for all the drivers making the trip North for the 1st round of this year’s QLD State Championships on April 7-9. The club is very grateful of the support provided by lots of local businesses and especially the contribution from Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (DBCT), who have come on board as the Title Sponsor of the round here at the Mackay track. Hector (pictured) from DBCT was out at the track for the NQ Series round earlier this month to help promote the upcoming State round, not only did the cadet and junior drivers enjoy his visit, but some of the more seasoned racers also took the time to pose for a photo opportunity. Numbers for the State round are growing by the day and the Mackay committee would encourage all drivers that haven’t nominated as yet to jump on to CMS and pre-nominate. It’s going to be a fantastic 3 days of racing that you won’t want to miss."
