Cadet 12
A quality field of 7 young drivers hit the track in Cadet 12, Xavier Renshaw took qualifying honours and the heat one victory, then it was Darcy Whelan that grabbed the win in heat two before reigning Cadet 9 state champion Toby Callow found some pace by winning heat 3. Whelan returned to the top step in heat 4 but it was Callow who had the pace in the final and took the win from Renshaw with Philip Cowles third. Whelan unfortunately was spun around by a back marker in the opening lap resulted in a 6th place finish.

KA4 Junior Light
As mentioned Campbell Whelan not only won the Rising Star award but he also cleaned up in KA4 Junior Light. After dropping a chain in qualifying he stormed to the front of the pack to win heats 3 and 4 before claiming the victory in the 15 lap final. Callum Bishop won the opening heats and was 2nd in the final with Smithton’s Logan Dixon 3rd. Unfortunately Fletcher Bellars, who took out qualifying, had a mechanical issue in the final resulting in a dnf along with Jesse Keeling. Young Launceston karter Tyson Phegan had some kart damage after heat 3 and was unable to take the green light in the final.

KA3 Junior- Junior Performance
Lochie Dalton finally got the better of Tate Frost when he won the KA3 Final on a drying track. Frost had earlier taken the qualifying honours and wins in heats 1, 2 and 4 but Dalton won the wet heat 3 race and the final after some very good racing between the pair. Third went to the vastly improved Connor Griffin with Declan Sherburd winning Junior Performance.

KA3 Senior Medium
The surprise winner on the day was Ben Marley when he won the KA3 Final. On a track that was drying out, all the competitors decided that it was still wet enough for the wet tyres, but they were wrong. However, Marley’s wets look more like slicks as he headed out the gate for the final. Launceston pair Jackson Callow and Murray Dadson had some decent wets and they cooked within a a few laps of the start with Marley's “inters” by  far the fastest on track. Marley won the final by some 3 seconds from Callow and Dadson.

TaG 125 Light
The premier class of TaG 125 light provided some great racing over the weekend with a North-South rivalry on display. Hobart gun Brad Hobden claimed the first scalp by topping the time sheets in qualifying with a new lap record of 34.967 seconds. Heat one also went the way of the young STKC member but from then on the northerners displayed the pace, Alastair Lee claimed the win in heat 2 before Nathan Zuj found the pace on Sunday with wins in both the wet heat 3 and 4. The Final looked to be a ding dong battle as the clouds disappeared and the track dried. Zuj grabbed the early lead from Lee with Trent Palmer in third. The front two drove off with Lee pegging Zuj down on the closing laps but was unable to make the pass for the win. Third went to Hobden after he got the better of Palmer. The unlucky story of the weekend was Hobart’s Samuel Jackson who had a major engine failure in Saturday’s practise with the loss of his best motor and he never really recovered.
