  • A massive field of Superkarts will compete at the opening round of the Australian Superkart Championship this weekend at the Shannons Nationals round at Sydney Motorsport Park. Sunday’s racing at each round will be streamed live over the internet via the series' website, www.thenationals.com.au. The Shannons Nationals series will also publish an online magazine after each round.

  • A new Junior Max engine will be given away randomly to any entrant in either J-Max Light or J-MAX Heavy at the Geelong Junior Challenge on April 20-21 (driver must be at presentations to win). Drivers in the other classes who enter prior to 9pm on Monday April 15 will go into an early-bird draw to win a set of tyres for their class. The format for this juniors-only event is a little different, with one timed practice, one heat, one pre final and one final.   • Ross Gathercole has been racing karts for 40 years. Based at the Mildura club, he started as a teenager with a 125cc Victa motor mower engined kart. The Sunraysia Daily has published an article on Ross. Access the 'Ross is Kart Crazy' feature on the Sunraysia Daily website HERE.

  • An addendum has been issued for the Southern City Classic at Oakleigh on April 6. There has been a clarification of wording regarding points, and TaG Super Heavy weights.   • Ferrari's 1964 Formula 1 World Champion, John Surtees, has purchased the Buckmore Park karting circuit in the UK. Kartlink reports that Surtees wants to extend the circuit and offer testing and road safety training. More on Kartlink HERE.

  • Pro Tour Ipswich will run a Friday/Saturday night format. More details, timetable etc HERE.
