Lismore Kart Club Series, Round 2

from Geoff Salmon, Sportsvoice 26 April 2013

After a Saturday that was very wet, the sun came up on a Sunday that promised an absolutely fabulous day, we were not to be disappointed, even though the ground was wet underfoot from the rain on Saturday. The Cooloola Coast was holding a meeting on the same day and there is a chance that a number of drivers with their families may have opted for the drive north. Irrespective of this possibility, sixty six drivers along with their spanner men arrived at Lismore Kart Club for the last meeting before the Lismore Young Guns to be run on the 3rd, 4th and 5th May 2013, the track looking in fine shape after a working bee by the Committee and Members was held recently. All was in readiness for the meeting, the format all heats count, which is the normal format at Lismore. Race distances were three heats of ten and a final of fifteen, Cadets and Rookies three heats of eight and a final of twelve. With no qualifying   the format was Luck of the Draw and Reverse for the first two heats, lowest points to the front for the third heat and finishing position in the third heat to determine grid positions for the final, all points count.
