  • Breaking news for this weekend's Carnival of Karts in WA - Pierce Lehane will replace Kyle Ensbey in the Patrizicorse team for the event. It is a one-off deal (Ensbey has other commitments) and will be Lehane's first time in a gearbox kart. "Another young gun getting a crack with Patrizicorse" team owner Michael Patrizi wrote on Facebook. The event has attracted a very impressive 243 entries across 12 classes.   • A new website, www.cikfiachampionship.com, has been established to provide a communication point for the various CIK-FIA World and European championships. Established by WSK Promotion - who now look after the marketing of CIK-FIA events - the site will include the usual event details and results, plus a pile of other stuff, such as the latest news, a video section, photo gallery, live streaming video and live timing.

  • The ART Grand Prix karting team used carbon fibre rear axle hubs on their KZ karts at the Sarno WSK Euro round recently. Vroom reports that team manager Armando Filini has now decided to use the parts in KF. The hubs have been developed in collaboration with the ART Grand Prix race car division. ART plan to market them as an optional part. More information and a photo on Vroom HERE. In AKA competition, carbon fibre can only be used in seats, Nassau panels or floor trays.

  • An increasing number of Aussie karters are publishing some awesome videos of their racing and karting in general. The first clip here, produced by Dalton Ellery for a school project, gives viewers an insight into karting, based on the Lithgow Pro Tour round. The second clip is of Cameron Hill's effort in KZ2 at Bolivar, from the road trip to the track onwards. Enjoy!
