  • The Board of the Australian Karting Association Ltd is seeking applications for the new positions of 'Director International Karting' and 'Company Secretary'. Applications should be made direct to the Board of Directors of AKA Ltd through the national office by Friday 31 May 2013.   • Cooper's Photography have posted on Facebook an album of images from the Oakleigh VKS round on the weekend. Click HERE to have a look.

  • The latest AKA licence figures reflect the same 3% decline in participation rates that were released recently. As at March 31, 2013, there were 7,465 members across the country - still well above the 7,049 recorded at the end of 2011. In fact, across a four-year period, the current figures reflect a 27% increase from the end of 2009. State-by-state and class figures (with new, renewed and late renewal licences) are on the AKA website HERE.

  • Official series merchandise for the Castrol Edge CIK Stars of Karting Championship can now be purchased online. Series organisers unveiled polo shirts ($50 each) and hats ($25 each) at the recent round of the championship. Order form on the series' website HERE.

  • Carnival of Karts organisers have earned plenty of promotional coverage for the sport with their efforts for this weekend's big race. "We got a run in today’s paper in the motorsport section (The West Australian, see below) and did a lot of promotion at the V8 Supercar round on the weekend" Tiger Kart Club's Media and Promotions Officer, Sean Phillips, advised KartSportNews. "Our club this week had over 60 calls in two days about the meeting and also about karting". The club signed up over 30 new members after last year's Carnival meeting.
