a few things about karting stuff...

  • The CIK-FIA European Championship for KZ and KZ2 kicks off this weekend at Wackersdorf, Germany. A key feature will be the broadcasting of races over the internet. WSK Promotion advise that their live streaming system is already fully operative through the web channels www.cikfiachampionship.com and www.cikfia.tv. "It will be possible to view the images of the final phase of the event of both the categories and on both the channels on Sunday 19th May". This is the first of two rounds and there are 140 entrants for the event.

  • Kartbook's Col Fink gives the new M3 Monaco kart a going over, pointing out the key technical features of this Australian built machine - plus a delivery special. The new-look Monaco apparel is due very soon!

  • Rick Fabri can give himself a good pat on the back over the SEQLD J-Max series, with this message from Glenn Seton after the seond round on the weekend: "Hi Rick, thanks for all your hard work you have put into getting this series to where it is today in the short time you have had. To have 22 Jmax competitors only 2 rounds into the first year of this series is mostly due to the work you have put in behind the scenes. Thank you to IKD, Pacific Kartsport & SportsVoice for their support & thanks to the circuits that have backed the SEQLD Jmax series. Look forward to the next round on June 8th. Regards, Glenn Seton".

  • Australian karter Aidan Wright claimed victory in two of the three races at the first round of the Formula Masters China Series in Zhuhai over the weekend. More on the AKA site HERE.

  • Interesting fact via the AKA: as the V8Supercars Championship heads to Texas this weekend, the "kart club graduate tally" of race winners so far in 2013 reads: Eastern Lions (Vic) - 6 race wins; Kartsport Hamilton (NZ) 3 wins, Gippsland Go Kart Club (Vic) 2 wins, and Kartsport Auckland (NZ) 1 win.
