Race Report - Toowoomba

Toowoomba Kart Club results from Sunday 28th April 2013

Another family fun race day held, this time with nothing but blue skies. Five rounds of 8 laps per class saw plenty of racing with some classes having bigger fields than others.

CADETS
Oscar Comley had a great day winning all but heat 3 with plenty of side by side racing with Sean Bolger, closely followed by Charlie Ploetz with Chris Christensen(1st C) and Tyler Collins(2nd C) rounding out the field.

ROOKIES
Jarrod Costello and Zak Hudson went into the final heat with 2 wins a piece and Costello took the win from Hudson, Thomas Shields, Lachlan Paech, Layton Smith, Dale Zimmerman(1st C) and William Pickering(2nd C) to round out the field.

JUNIOR NATIONAL LIGHT
Will Brown was dominant today with 5 wins followed by Cameron Shields, Kyle Alderson and Jackson Smith(1st C) also finishing in the same positions with Jack Pickering, Rohan Sams, Jaiden Velt and Matt Hansen mixing it up to finish in that order overall.

CLUBMAN LIGHT
Mixing the results throughout the day was Matt Jones having 3 wins from Scott Hynes with 2 followed by Jay Hansen, Kyle McGlinn, Keith Taylor and Tim Kickbusch.

CLUBMAN HEAVY
Certainly plenty of action in this class with heat 4 losing 5 of the 11 entries on the 1st corner.  Paul Baxter ended with 4 wins from Paul Brackam, Peter Bossons, Trent Forbes and Chris Williams.

CLUBMAN OVER 40’s
Dale Robinson showed the Silver Arrow still has some speed taking the overall win from Ivo DalCin after having some engine dramas still hanging on for 2nd followed by Bruce Turpin. Greg Cooper, Ezio DalCin and Shane Minon.

TAG REST LIGHT & HEAVY COMBINED
Brian Calabria hung on for the win with Trent Cosser racing to 2nd the hard way having to start ROF for each race due to P licence after having more than 3 yrs away. Nigal Arkadieff was dominant in heavy.

TAG LIGHT & HEAVY COMBINED
John Moss showed his time doing grid marshall at TKC hasn’t slowed him down at all, taking 5 wins followed by Dennis Pascall, Trent Harders struggling with a ill handling kart and Paul Morandini.

At the completion of the racing was the free barb-b-que and presentations.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the next meet on the 19th May where the club will welcome the Cook The Books racing FB group who have organized a trackside barb-b-que on the Saturday night following practice. Remember trackside camping is available.
