Team Castrol Edge Prepare To Continue Winning

press release 27 May 2013

With Round 4 of the Prokart Endurance series this weekend at Bundaberg, Team Castrol EDGE are in final preparations to try and continue their winning streak.

With a slightly shorter turn around time than normal Team Castrol EDGE elected not to do any private testing, instead concentrating on making what hopes to be some positive changes to the chassis after going through post race data from the Warwick Round.

“We haven’t felt testing between rounds was necessary due to the large amount of free practice prior to qualifying on the Saturday. After speaking with Team Owner Simon Ham we have decided to make some modifications to the kart that we hope will allow us to improve on our already strong pace from last round, as I haven’t been entirely happy with the karts response to the new tyre“ said Gurr.

Although some teams have tested between events to close the gap to Team Castrol EDGE, they are confident that they can maintain their pace at what will be a new track for them.

With there main championship threat Team KNK Australia coming off a tough couple of Rounds the Castrol EDGE crew were able to take the Championship lead. “No doubt the other front running teams will be out to stop us getting too much of a points gap in the Championship this weekend so we should be in for some good racing“ said Ham.

With Saturday consisting of the F1 style qualifying and a 1hr Sprint Race, that must have all 3 drivers complete a stint in the kart will provide for some strategic pit stops, while pushing as hard as possible due to it making up 20% of the weekends points tally. Followed on Sunday by the tough 6hr race that will make up the other 80%.

Looking forward to the New Event on the calendar is Nicky Laskazeski who like a lot of the other competitors has not even seen the Bundaberg Circuit. She commented “It will be great to go to somewhere new! It will be imperative to get as much track time as possible prior to qualifying so we can get our heads around the track aswell as the kart setup, due to it been our first event here so we will be starting from scratch”

With the Castrol EDGE Team taking out the last couple of Rounds, they will be seen as favorites going into the Bundaberg event, although over the 2 days of racing with the field gunning for them anything can happen in.
