TaG Super Series, Round 3

press release 27 May 2013

Tamworth put on great weather at their wonderful facility for round 3 of the Workplace Training Centre TAG Super Series. Racing started at 10.30am with only 6 classes for the day - TAG 125 Light, Heavy, TAG Restricted Light, Heavy, Super Heavy and Open Performance. Qualifying for each class was close.

TAG 125 Light:
Andrew Mitchell took pole with a 34.547 2/10 under the lap record. With 1st to 7th separated by 4/10 of a second.
TAG 125 Heavy:
Benjamin Ritchie took pole with 35.083 under the lap record. Mathew Endres was .032 behind.
TAG Restricted Light:
Michael Sieders took pole on a 35.446 which was 5/10 under the lap record. The next six drivers were all within 5/10 of each other.
TAG Restricted Heavy:
David Strickland took pole with a 36.362 with Phil Curran only .063 behind. 1st to 8th were only separated by 6/10 of a second.
TAG Restricted Super Heavy:
Shane Tate took pole with a 37.167 new lap record. This would have started Shane on P10 in the heavy race.

Tag 125 Light:
Andrew Mitchell was the class of the field all day, clean sweeping heats, pre final and final with David Boyd and Royce Sutherland close behind. Unfortunately, David DNF in the pre-final. Gamet Patterson and Scott Willoughby were right there to obtain good finishes.

TAG 125 Heavy:
Benjamin Ritchie and Matthew Endres were the class in TAG 125 Heavy. Ben was fast all day with Matthew only 1/10 of a second off his rear bar, most of the day. Daniel Ferry, Sam Taylor and Bradley Goodman were only a couple of 10th of a second back. Very good racing, all day.

TAG Restricted Light:
Michael Sieders returned to form for Tamworth, round 3, for a clean sweep of heats and finals. Very close racing behind him with Steve Adams, Jonathan Naughton, Jonathan Tobey and Matthew Kenneth all showing top 3 positions in the heats and finals.

TAG Restricted Heavy:
Unlucky results for Phil Curran and David Strickland both shared 1st and 2nd in heats and pre final. Both broke chains in the final, Phil’s with 4 corners to the finish line rolling over the line in 8th. Allen Leayr, Aaron Wasley and Chris Bail right on their rear bars took out the top three places. 3/10 of a second covered the lap times of the top 8 in the final. This resulted in very close racing, all day.

TAG Restricted S/ Heavy:
Shane Tate had a clean sweep of the heats and finals, with Scott Dalton-Kirby and James Murray fighting over 2nd and 3rd all day. Scott finished second in the final.
