Saller Eyes Top Result At Rotax Nationals

press release 23 August 2013

Sydney’s Michael Saller will embark on his second Rotax Nationals in the Rotax Heavy class next weekend at Victoria’s Puckapunyal circuit with one goal in mind, a top result against some of Australia’s best drivers.

The northern Victorian track played host to the State Championships in March, and that in addition to rigorous testing since then has Michael confident of a good result, though he knows the pressures will be on him in such a high profile event.

"Puckapunyal is a seriously exciting track that is tough and physically demanding, it’s going to take my absolute best to be at the top,” Saller said.

As is the case with many of the World’s top drivers, preparation off track is key to success on track and this is something Michael has been placing an increased focus in the lead up to the four day event.

"The weeks prior have been very intense with a strict nutrition program aswell as tough training to assure myself I’m on top of my game ready for whatever is thrown at me,” Saller added.

Recent on-track success has given Saller a boost in the lead up to the Nationals, with victory at the recent CIK Stars of Karting event although he is well aware the bar will be raised once he hits the track in Victoria.

"Coming off a win at the recent CIK round gives me immense confidence as I’m hoping that monkey is off my back and we can give it a red hot go at the Rotax Nationals.”

“This isn’t to say things won’t be tough, the entry list is really strong and I’m sure the racing will be nothing different,” Saller concluded.

The 2013 Rotax National Championships will take place at the Eastern Lions Kart Club, Puckapunyal
Victoria on 29-31 Aug / 1st September 2013.
