This weekend the New South Wales Speedway Kart Club will host the fourth annual AKA Australian Speedway Karting Titles. Seven classes will compete over Saturday and Sunday vying for Australian Title success. Drivers will fight through three rounds of heats on Saturday before a pre final and final on Sunday. Aussie Forklift Repairs are the major sponsor for this weekends title that will see drivers from all over Australia converge on the Nepean Raceway venue.
The Rookies are the next generation of Australian Speedway Racing and this weekend they will go head to head in the hope to be crowned Australian number one. Rookies are for young guns aged from nine to thirteen. They may be young, but don’t let this fool you, race after race they display tremendous racing on a world class level.
Andrew Sayre will try and become the first man in the Rookies class to claim back to back Australian Titles. He is also the current NSW champion so Sayre is hoping to add to his already impressive list of achievements.
Luke Geering has been Sayre’s closets challenger all year and this weekend will be no exception. Geering currently sits second in the Rookies Club Championship and is hoping to take his maiden Australian crown this weekend.
Liam Camilleri has shown burst of speed throughout the year and will be challenging for the green plate. Also throw in the mix Liam Walker, who has shown huge development since the start of the season. Young lady racer Caitlin Genner will be trying to steal the title of the boys.
Finally the brother of David and Zak Blanch will once again go head to head against each other. Together they have developed thoughout the season and are now fighting for wins. Can they be the first brothers to achieve a one two at the titles?
Racing will get underway at 10am both days, entry is $5 for adults and all canteen facilities will be open. You will find Nepean Raceway on Rickards Road, Castlereagh.
The NSWSKC would like to thank their sponsors for their ongoing support of the club.
