NSW Driver Wins QLD Speedway Title

Last weekend three Juniors from the NSW Speedway Kart Club went to Toowoomba Queensland to race for the Queensland Speedway Kart Title.

Brothers Luke & Mathew Geering from C&A Mobile Racing & last years Qld Title holder Jake Donaldson made the trek North together in what turned out to be a successful weekend for the Geering Brothers.

Luke, the youngest of the three, is the current AKA Australia Rookie Champion & brother Mathew is just about to start the Pro Series on tar.

The Queensland Title was held on the Saturday with Luke & Mathew finishing 1st & 2nd while defending Champion Jake Donaldson missed 3rd place by 0.066 of a second finishing 4th, charging from last place after an earlier accident which sent him rear of field.

Sunday was a new day & this time the boys where racing for the Des Carsberg Memorial Cup.

Once again Luke was in hot form taking a flag to flag win while brother Mat had to settle for 3rd place with Jake Donaldson having to retire from the race.

Watching the footage from the Go Pro on Luke’s helmet after the Title race was a special moment when last years winner excitingly rushed over to congratulate the young Champ.

This weekend the Geering Boys head to Avalon while Jake will take a hard earned rest before getting back into it early next year.
