Karting News Briefs

  3 January 2014

the first news briefs for 2014...

  • Launceston Kart Club will kick off the 2014 season with a Twilight meeting on Saturday, January 18. The club has organized for local musician Marty Kooistra to perform during the tea break around 5:30-6:30pm. Promotions officer Stuart Lee said the idea behind the event "is to bring back the fun and family side of kart racing. Yes, there will still be trophies up for grabs, but the meeting is designed to start the year off with a little less pressure than a State Title or State Wide Series meeting, and have friends and family come along." The meeting will feature an Open Performance class with Super 200 twins, single engine F100s and even a couple of KZ shifter karts, plus all the regular classes. Practice is short and sharp on Saturday morning with racing starting around 1pm. The following day, the club will run a Have-A-Go day from 10am to 3pm. If you know of anyone interested in getting involved in karting, contact Stuart Lee on 0400 793 921 for details.
