Pro Tour Update

Rotax Pro Tour heads to Todd Road for round two on January 24 to 26. Entry is now open (note: entries close Wednesday 15th January) and Supp Regs can be viewed HERE.

IKD has issued a competitor bulletin outlining the technical specifications that will be in effect in Melbourne, particularly the new carburettor rule (below) as this will apply to all Rotax classes competing in the Pro Tour.

The following two combinations of floats and idle jets are legal:

Combination 1:
For carburettor insert 12.5 (as per illustration at rule 15.17)
Floats are marked with “5.2gr” Idle jet and Idle jet insert are stamped with the digits “30”

Combination 2:
For carburetor insert 8.5 (as per illustration at rule 15.17) Floats are marked with “3.6gr” Idle jet and Idle jet insert are stamped with the digits “60”

NOTE: Effective from 1st January, 2014, Combination 2 ONLY is allowed for the Rotax National Championships, Rotax Pro Tour, all State Championships and events where Rotax is run as a standalone class. This does not apply to Restricted TAG, TAG & Sportsman style classes.

  • Combination 1 Carburettors using the 12.5 Venturi will be illegal to use in the Rotax Pro Tour, but can be converted to Combination 2 with an 8.5 Venturi and corresponding jets and floats.

In other Pro Tour news, the Friday night Talent Quest scheduled for the Melbourne round has been cancelled due to a lack of interest. IKD will still be hosting the FREE Friday Night Sausage Sizzle which will start at around 5:00-5:30pm. "We encourage you to wear your best Australia Day outfit!"
