  • The Board of AKA Ltd advises that the position of National Officials Coordinator has been vacated. On an interim basis, Mr Mark Horsley (the NSW State Officials Coordinator) will fill this role at the National level with immediate effect. Applications are now open for suitably qualified people to put forward their credentials to be considered by the Board to fill this role for the 2014 year. The Standing Orders for the National Officials Coordinator along with the application form which is to be completed and returned to applications@karting.net.au are now available on www.karting.net.au. Applications close at 5.00pm (Eastern Summer Time) on Thursday 23 January 2014.

  • A sort 3-minute video was screened at the recent CIK-FIA prize giving, demonstrating the strongest emotions, victories and defeats in the 2013 World and European Championships. Watch the clip on the monzaracetv website HERE.

  • For the first time in years, KZ Gearbox kart racing will return to club level competition at the Willowbank track when the Ipswich Kart Club kicks off its season on Saturday, February 1. The class will be run as KZ3 - the same technical specifications as KZ2, but allows drivers with a B grade licence to also compete. The meeting will provide a great opportunity to test and practice before the CIK Stars of Karting round at the venue in March. The club will run three rounds of KZ3. More on the AKA site HERE.

  • The Vortex Kiwi Mini-ROK has hit the track in New Zealand. The honour of recording the first race wins for the motor fell to Dylan Grant (Cadet ROK) and Ben Morrison (Vortex Mini ROK). Overall class winners were Joshua Parkinson (Cadet ROK) and Morrison (Vortex Mini ROK). Words from some of the fathers, plus the drivers themselves, can be found on the Kartsport NZ website HERE.
