  • V8 Ute racer Cam Wilson is currently trying to break the world record for the greatest distance travelled indoors in a 24 hour period at the wheel of a go-kart. The 39-year old started at midday today (Tuesday) at his Brisbane indoor karting centre (he also owns one on the Gold Coast). Wilson is hoping to break the current record of 503km and at the same time raise funds and awareness of Huntington’s Queensland, an association that supports those suffering from the genetic disorder.   • Joseph Mawson is looking at moving out of karts and doing the British Formula 4 Championship this year, according to an interview in the latest issues of CAMS's Speed Read HERE (then scroll to page 9-10). Mawson's interview is followed by another with an ex-karter, Chelsea Angelo.

  • The VKA has given a big 'Thanks' to the bunch of officials who participated in the recent Officials' school. "We now have 200 accredited officials in Victoria. Their dedication as a volunteer to the sport of Karting is greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone once again" - VKA Executive.

  • Eight weeks before the opening round of 2014 kicks off, the registrations for the CIK Stars of Karting Series have exceeded 200. No less than 74 competitors have secured their race numbers in the three Pro classes – Pro Gearbox (KZ2), Pro Light (KF) and Pro Junior (KF). There has also been a significant interest in the three Challenge categories – Rookies and TaG 125 Light and Heavy. Full list with race numbers is on the series site HERE.

  • TEKA's 2014 season kicks off with an 8-hour enduro at Eastern Creek on Feb 22. The association's schedule consists of seven rounds, concluding with a reverse direction event at Newcastle in November:

  • Pro Tour Dubbo, round 3 of the current rankings period takes place Feb 28 to March 2. Entry has now opened (but closes on Wednesday, Feb 19). Supp Regs on the Race Calendar page.
