Kartforce Kids Big Winners At Western Cup

press release 11 February 2014

Western Australia’s record breaking Western Cup opening round, with almost 300 entrants, was a fitting event for Kartforce to demonstrate their focus on junior development.

The  highlight class of KZ3 shifter karts with a maximum grid of 44, was the blue ribbon event and Blake Mills - a former Junior National Heavy national champion for Kartforce back in 2000 - stole the show.

Whilst the spectacle of the KZ’s thrilled the crowd, who were three or four deep along the fence line, it was the Kartforce juniors who came away with the biggest haul of silverware.

Dylan Ferfolja cleaned up in Cadets, Aaron Love romped away with Rookies and Ben Harders doubled up with wins in Junior National Heavy and winning  the Junior Clubman final snaring 2nd for the day.

Kip Foster was understandably excited about the performance of his protégés.

“The commitment of these kids and their families is amazing" he said. "They are all keen to listen and learn and do the track time to make sure they succeed. The future of Western Australian karting is looking good with kids like these”.

Not to be outdone by his juniors, Kip joined in the fun in TAG 125 Light with a win in the final and second place overall.

“I entered very late primarily so I could get a feel for the track and pass that information on to the kids but, as always, I had a lot of fun, certainly a bit more relaxing than my last few races in France and the USA”.

Kerry Foster kept the family trophy cabinet full, with a strong 2nd in 125 Restricted Light.
