Ipswich Offer Free P-Plate Cadets

  5 May 2014

The Ipswich Kart Club will offer a P-Plate Cadets class at the fourth round of the club's championship on May 24, but the category will not score any points in the club series and it will be free to enter.

"Due to the popularity of the Kids Program headed up by Jo Mackay, the club would like to give P-Plate Cadets the chance to race at our next meeting without the pressure of a Championship Round" the club informed KartSportNews.

The concept is to give the new P-Plater Cadet karters a taste of what it is like to attend and compete at an IKC round of the Championship without having to be concerned with lack of pace or skill.

"The club also would like to invite the family and friends of the new kids to come and witness something pretty special in a sport they love knowing its about nothing other than experience for them while most importantly having fun.

"The experience will also be invaluable to allow the kids to see first hand what its like to attend our meetings and give them a heads up to what it will be like when they are comfortable with joining the more experienced kids.

"Opportunities like this do not come around very often so we encourage all those starting out to participate in this day and get a feel for our race meetings and learn as much as possible. This experience will be invaluable.

"All the kids will get full support from the club and officials of the day to help nurture the nerves for both the Kids and Parents alike. They will be taken care of.

"By racing in this class of P Platers only you will also see arguably the best Cadet racers in the country competing in the IKC Championship to which we are sure they could also be amongst with further experience.

"The cost for entry will be Free. All current Cadet P Platers that race in the main game are welcome to participate in this event at no cost as well.

"We hope you take this opportunity with both hands and just do it. We as a club will be supporting you all the way. Good Luck and hope to see you all on track."
