IAME Champion & Vice-Champion @ WSK

press release 8 May 2014

38 IAME/Parilla drivers competed in the third and last meeting of the WSK Super Master Series on the La Conca Circuit: The result - 3 podiums, KF Champion with Ilott and vice-champion in KFJ and KZ.

KZ

Jonathan Thonon (Praga) is the protagonist: 2° step of the podium and vice-champion of the WSK Super Master Series at the end of a superb week end with 2 wins and a 3° in the qualifying heats, best lap, 1° place from the start to the finish of the pre-final and 2° all along the final. Rick Dreezen (Zanardi) is fast and constant: 3° in the qualifying practice and 4° after qualifying heats; in the pre-final he is stopped by a technical problem after only 7 laps, but in the final he recovers 12 positions and finishes 9°.

Patrik Hajek is constant and always close to the top 10. Bas Lammers (FK), leader among the IAME/Parilla and in battle for the title till the third and decisive round, is somehow unlucky: some difficulties with the set up and some technical problems compromise his race right from the qualifying practice and force him to leave the pre-final, he then recovers up to the 17° place with some difficulties.

KF

Callum Illott (Zanardi) is Champion after an explosive week-end. The Englishman starts at the top with the pole and very good qualifying heats, where he also achieves a win that is then nulled due to a penalty for under-weight (derived from the change of the set-up from dry to wet). Not a big damage! After the fantastic 1° place of the pre-final he also starts and finishes the final on the lead, he scores the best lap and conquers the title. Tom Joyner is constant and fast: 3° in the qualifying practice, twice 2° in the qualifying heats, 4° in the pre-final but unfortunately he is too aggressive in the final and is forced to leave due to a contact.

Well done also for Hannes Janker (Zanardi), author in the final of a spectacular recovery of 14 positions and 7° at the finish line; Martijn Van Leween (Zanardi) compensates the difficult qualifying practice and an unfortunate heat by entering the top 10; Karol Dabski (Praga) who is able to recover 19 positions from Friday to Sunday.

KFJ

Daniel Ticktum (Zanardi) is once again the best among the IAME-Parilla drivers: 3° in both the qualifying practice and after the qualifying heats and 2° all along the pre-final. The fight for the title stays open for him till the final: in this race, unfortunately, he comes only 6° and misses the title only for a handful of points. His vice-champion title is anyway a an excellent result in sight of the European Championship.

The KFJ rookie Rasmus Lindh (Praga Racing) does an excellent race too, entering the top 10 from the qualifying heats and so does Jules Bollier (Kosmic), recovering 16 places in the final and finishing 13°.

60 MINI

After the unfortunate second round, Skeed (Top Kart) is the first out of all the IAME-Parilla and he is determined and constant: 8° after very well raced heats where he recovers 13 places and again 8° at the finish of the final. He is 11° in the overall classification, right behind Christian Cobellini (Top Kart/IAME-Parilla), who’s 10° overall after an excellent championship.
