  • Entry is now open for the 2014 Queensland State Sprint Championships, to be held at the Whitsunday Moto Sports Club's Whitsunday Raceway at Proserpine from July 11 to 13. A link to the Supp Regs is on the Race Calendar page HERE.

  • The 2014 Karting Australia Manual has been updated. Rules 13.19 c) iv), 30.2 a) i) & ii), 31.2 a) i) & ii), 32.2 a) i) & ii) have been updated in reference to Licence qualifications and restrictions for Junior Clubman, Formula JMax and Junior Performance. Click here to view the updated Manual.

  • Resurfacing has been completed at the Wimmera club's track at Horsham, and local ace Remo Luciani looks pretty pleased with the result! The new surface was laid on Wednesday and on recommendation from Boral, the track will remain closed until Saturday, May 17 - practice day for Country Series round 3.

  • Melbourne Speedway Kart Club has cancelled this Sunday's race meeting. Nominations were down (almost certainly due to Mother's Day), however the Bacchus Marsh track will be open and available for use from 9am to 3pm for $35. Next kart club race meeting at Bacchus Marsh will be June 1st.

  • Dealer services this weekend:
    • Master Karting - spare parts van & trailer will be at Todd Road from this Friday for round 3 of the Victorian Karting Series
    • Kerbrider - will also have their trailer at Todd Road for the VKS round.

  • The Kiwis are offering go kart test drive packages on the auction website trademe.co.nz. For $80, the package is an introduction to kart racing with a test drive at Kartsport Auckland's Strata Networks Raceway at Avondale. More detail HERE.

  • Full CIK Stars of Karting championship points are on the series website, listing points earned from each round for every driver across all clases, including the support categories. Energy leads CRG and PCR in the Manufacturers' Championship while the only two drivers to have received penalty points in KZ2 lead the standings! Click HERE to view the lot.

  • Warrnambool Kart Club advise they have changed the rest of their 2014 club day race dates to the Saturday of the last weekend of the month. As such, new dates are: May 24th, June 28th, July 26th, August 30th, September 27th, October 25th and November 29th. Also, the June 28 meeting will be in reverse direction. Format is two heats and a final, enter by 12:30, racing at 1pm. Late entries are rear of field all day. Only WKC members earn points towards the end of year championship, however non-WKC members can still race

  • The Newcastle kart track will be closed for regular practice this Saturday due to a 'Come & Try' day. We hear there are 16 potential new members who will be having a run in morning & afternoon sessions. Hopefully they get hooked on this great sport!

  • More on the Kids Program running at Ipswich Kart Club. "The program runs once a month and was started to help bridge the gap between the kids at the front and the kids at the back" the club's Jo Mackay informed KartSportNews. "After having conversations, we found out that some people don’t stay in the sport as their kid is not fast enough, and the parents can't always afford to pay someone to do driver training." As such, the club has Dale Verrall and Jon Targett come along to give the kids tips and advice. Top job, guys! More info below:
