Treseder Talks of WA KZ2 Debut

from WA KZ2 20 May 2014

The 3rd Round of the FMA West Australian KZ Series will be run this weekend at the Tiger Kart Club'sCockburn facility. Queenslander Kel Treseder speaks ahead of his first outing in the series:

Q. Kel, you're a well known figure in Australian Karting. Great to see you're coming over to have a run with in the FMA KZ Series!

A. "Cheers, yes well we had been thinking of coming to WA to do a race for while. The aim has always been to get the gear over and compete in the full series, (but) I just can’t afford the time off work as much anymore, otherwise it would be great to do more KZ racing!"

Q. Being a Queenslander, do you get to follow the Series much?

A. "I’m always keen to follow results of the WA rounds. I love how excited the WA drivers are about KZ - you guys have sports bet, nicknames, the whole show and from the outside looks fun. The racing looks to be super competitive with very strong numbers!

"Coming over from the east is never going to be easy... most of the guys from the east struggle to get inside the top 10, so we will see how we go!"

Q. How do you rate your chances?

A. "Millsy is bloody tall and very fast. Fainty off the back of a CIK win will have some confidence. We will need to keep under control. The FMA boys are always quick; Klarich and Kandola all going well. If I can run around any of those lads, we will be happy!

"The whole point of going West to get some extra race laps under the belt for CIK round 3 at Pucka and enjoy the meeting.

"I have never seen the Cockburn layout but with a name like “Cockburn”, sounds like a tough circuit.

"Also a big thanks to BD, Greg Dicker & FlatOut karts for letting us use tents, trollies etc and taking the kart to the track. Awesome help!"
