Ojeda Chasing First Australian Title at Ipswich Rotax Nationals

Sydney’s Jayden Ojeda will be looking to secure his first ever National title in Australian Karting at this weekend’s Sparco Rotax Nationals at Ipswich in Queensland, with the event being the 15 year-olds final preparation ahead of his inaugural trip to the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Valencia, Spain in November.
After having claimed numerous race and round wins throughout the 2014 Pro Tour season, so far in his Karting career, a National Championship has eluded Ojeda and it’s something the Exprit driver is looking to change at this weekend’s first ever day/night Rotax Nationals.

“To win my first ever Australian title would be an amazing achievement for us after a long season and a lot of time and effort we've put into the Pro Tour and Karting in general. This year has been very busy, so to win the Australian title would be a real highlight not only to my year but to my career overall,” Ojeda said.
Jayden’s successes throughout the Pro Tour season have amassed him a comfortable lead in the Junior Max rankings, thus all but confirming him as one of three Australian drivers in the junior class at the Rotax World Finals. Ojeda will be looking to use this weekend’s highly competitive event as preparation to take on the World’s best in November.
“The Rotax Nationals will be a great way of preparing for the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Spain later this year. It will require me to be at my best and the intense competition will be similar to that in Valencia. We have worked on having the correct people around us for the whole year with the best equipment possible and it has subsequently allowed us to deliver some great results. We will be trying everything to make sure we can bring home the green plate,” Ojeda added.
With a field of in excess of 60 entries, the Junior Max class is the largest of the six categories at the event. Following his drive away win at the opening round of the CIK Stars of Karting Championship at Ipswich in March, Ojeda will be banking on this experience and that gained in testing to give himself the best chance of a victory.
“The Junior Max field is huge and certainly has plenty of drivers in it that are capable of getting on the podium. I have to put my head down from the outset and push hard for consistent results through the heats with the aim to come out on top in the finals. We had a good result at Ipswich at the CIK round in March, so I’ll be hoping to use that experience under lights to help me take the win,” Ojeda concluded.
The 2014 Sparco Rotax Nationals take place at Ipswich, Queensland from 4-7 September.
