Final Standings: 2014 National Rotax Rankings

press release 10 September 2014

Following the 2014 Sparco Rotax Nationals at Ipswich, and one of the most competitive Pro Tour seasons so far, the National Rotax Rankings for 2014 have been finalised, and are now official.

Congratulations are in order to all drivers who competed this year. It is fair to say that the parity of equipment and depth of talent in each of the categories now delivers one of the most competitive series going. The strength of our drivers that take on the World at the Grand Finals each year proves this.

While the Sodi Junior Max Trophy Class and Rotax Heavy category don’t compete for a Grand Finals ticket, both classes are still very tightly matched. Young Sydney-sider Glen Ormerod and Victoria’s Rick Pringle both demonstrated consistently strong results throughout the year which has earned them their prize of a free Rotax engine of their choice – a Junior Max or Senior Max engine for Glen, and a Senior Max or DD2 engine for Rick.

The battle for the Manufacturer’s Cup is also a closely fought contest on the Pro Tour, with CRG, Formula K, Praga and Birel all proving to be stiff competition to the range of OTK chassis. But in the end it was the original green machine team of Tony Kart Australia who came out on top ahead of CRG in 2nd and Formula K in 3rd.

In 2015, the Rotax Pro Tour will be back, bigger and better! We are looking forward to our two new categories of Micro Max and Mini Max joining the series, along with the return of all our current classes.

  • Registrations for the 2015 season will open on the 1st November at www.rotax.com.au on a first in first served basis.
