Junior Karter To Become Youngest Ever V8 Racer

West Australian junior karter Jake Kostecki is set to drive a V8 Supercar at round 4 of the Kumho Tyres Australian V8 Touring Car Series at Phillip Island this weekend, thus becoming the youngest ever driver in the history of the V8 category.

According to Shannons Nationals media, the 14-year-old will drive an ex-FPR Falcon in the category, which is held as part of the Shannons Nationals for ex-V8 Supercars no longer raced in either the V8 Supercar Championship or its feeder Dunlop Series.

The Western Australian is under the wing of former V8 Supercar driver Matthew White.

Kostecki will drive in private practice on Friday in a bid to receive the final sign-off on his CAMS licenceso he can compete on Saturday and Sunday.
