  • Former AKA Queensland Treasurer John Lane has been charged over an alleged $75,000 fraud of the state's karting association. The Cronicle news website reports the charge includes six counts of stealing as an officer of a company and four counts of entering false records. He is due to front Toowoomba Magistrates Court on December 3. More HERE.

  • Queensland karter Tyler Greenbury is preparing to make his first ever appearance at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 as part of the Aussie Racing Car series round there this weekend. “I’m really looking forward to making my Bathurst debut this weekend" the former National karting champion said. "The track is incredible and I will be fulfilling one of my long time dreams in motorsport. I have spent a lot of time in the build up to this weekend learning the track, watching online videos and trying to physically and mentally prepare myself for the impending challenge.”

  • The Independent Kart Racing (IKR) group in the UK is causing serious headaches for the country's national accociation, the MSA. Karting1.co.uk reports a recent IKR event at the Clay Pigeon track saw competitors using tyres that cost just £70 a set (AUS$128)! The harder compound tyre (Maxxis SLC) has to last several rounds of the series. Apparently, some of the biggest tracks in the UK are looking at implementing more racing outside of the MSA.   • The AIDKA AGM is coming up soon and the organisation is calling for nominations. Interestingly, several of the positions are two year terms (Vice President, Treasurer, National Technical Officer, and National Scrutineer coordinator). National Steward Coordinator is a one year term. Applications close  October 10. More about this (application forms, position descriptions etc) HERE.

  • Gippsland Go Kart Club annual election was held on Tuesday night. The executive for the next term is: President - Peter Aitken, Vice president - Russell Frost, Secretary - Anita Stratton, Treasurer - Phil Lane, Race Secretary/Mem/lic Secretary - Lorraine Aitken, VKA Delegate - Graeme Monds.

  • The scheduled Seniors Only Southern City Classic at Oakleigh this Saturday has been cancelled. "The Committee thought long and hard regarding this decision and believe that the number of pre-entries was not enough to successfully run the race meeting. Moving forward we have two events in the next few months, Class Titles – 25th October and Kingston Cup (Enduro) – 15th November" the club advised.
