Whitsunday Titles

The Whitsunday Titles were run at the Mackay Kart Club's Keilbach Park Raceway last weekend and was a great success.

In Cadets, Mackay driver Riley Le Garde was unstoppable all weekend, with wins in every heat and the final. Young Max Deguara (also a Mackay driver) had to fight hard for second place having some battles during the weekend with Blake McDonald (Emerald), who had a consistent race meeting finishing 2nd in the every heat, but ending the weekend with 3rd in the final. There as great racing throughout the field with no DNF’s over the weekend. Well done to all the boys and girls, great to see.

In Junior National light, Declan Fraser (Mackay) also drove well all weekend to finish in first spot, followed home by Townsville junior Jarva Sheerans (2nd) and his brother Raith Sheerans completing the podium with third place.

Jay McGregor was able to cross the line first to take the win in the Rookies class. Most unlucky driver for the meeting was young Townsville driver Tristan Lambert, who was fast all weekend only to have a front wheel part company early on in the final taking him out of the race. Jayden Muir (Mackay) capatalised on the misfortune and came home a solid second, with Devon De Froberville (Mackay) a close third in the end.

Overall the meeting was a great success. With thanks to the major sponsor Hylands Panel Works, four lucky drivers went home with $250 cash each.

The Mackay Committee would like to thank all the drivers, official, volunteers and sponsors that made the meeting possible, without their assistance Title meetings such as our Whitsundays would not happen. Hope to see everyone back in Mackay in 2015!
