2015 WA KZ Series

  27 November 2014

After a hugely successful 2014 series, the 2015 FMA WA KZ series is locked and loaded!

FMA Motorsport remain on board as major sponsor for the five round series. FMA Motorsport currently support a number of forms of motorsport, including a kart team that competes heavily in the WA KZ Series.

"The WA KZ Series Committee and Drivers would like to thank FMA Motorsport for their continued support" series organisers informed KartSportNews.

Additional support sponsors will be announced soon, which will see a further increase in the prize pool.

The dates for next year’s series have been finalised. Essentially it’s the same tracks as last year, but on different dates which have come about after the Karting West Australia AGM.

  • Kicking off the season a couple of weeks earlier than last year, Albany City Kart Club are hosting round one on the 24th and 25th of January. It’s getting talked up as an 'Australia Day Party' meeting which sounds like something different and a lot of fun! The track will be opposite direction which should spice things up from last year.
  • The 2nd round will be at Bunbury City Kart Club on the 11th and 12th April. The Coastal Classic is one of the more traditional meetings and the track offers some close, tight racing.
  • The 3rd round will move back to the Capital. The Carnival of Karts is one of the biggest meetings in WA and this year will be held on the 23rd and 24th May.
  • The 4th round is back to the adopted 'home track'. Hurricane Kart Club will once again run its King of the Hill meeting on August 29th. This is always a great meeting that literally goes off with a bang! The fireworks show at the end of the meeting seems to get bigger and better each year!
  • The final for 2015 will be held on the 24th October at Tiger Kart Club's Wanneroo Raceway. A very professional circuit with many passing opportunities, it should prove an exciting final to the series. Being a 1 day event also means the end of season Presentation will take place the following day where Series Champion and Rookie of the Year will be crowned.

"There has been lots of testing done in the off season and some new names coming into the ranks… it’s going to be a big year!"
