DJM’s newest recruit Anthony Whitwam capped of a good year with a four place after consistently running up the front all series. Cody Donald had another fantastic weekend in the Junior National Heavy class! Cody was also fighting for a championship going into the weekend but a DNF on Saturday put him second in the championship. Cody had a fantastic final race coming home in second crossing the line just behind first with only 0.006 the difference, a fantastic race!

Regan Clapham, after another trying weekend but had a superb final, and was able to come home in a solid fifth place. Jackson Rice had another solid weekend after just stepping up to the junior ranks and was able to run in the top ten most of the weekend. Well done boys.

Newly crowned Australasian Kart Champion Gerry Westerveld went into the final round also fighting for a championship. Gerry fought the championship out with newly crowned QLD state champion Declan Fraser and after some bad luck in the heats Gerry was only able to come home in second place in the championship. A great testament to Gerry’s consistent year! Jackson Rice showed good pace over the weekend running in a competitive and always improving each race! Congratulations guys!

Beau Harris, Nick Trebilcock and Adam Campbell were out on the track competing in the Rookies class in another competitive field of karters. Beau Harris ran competitively inside the top ten all weekend and come home in seventh position. Beau has had a fantastic series after taking a round win earlier in the year. Nick Trebilcock and Adam Campbell ran competitively all weekend but both missed out on top ten finishes after a chaotic final. All boys were competitive all throughout the series.

Jake Coghill was out on the track in the Clubman Light class and ran competitively all weekend inside the top five. After a crazy final race Jake was pushed off the circuit twice but made a great recovery to come just outside the top ten. Jake has been competitive at all meetings this year and shown great pace at all race meetings, congratulations Jake!

Fletcher Harris was the last to hit the track in the Cadet class. One of the younger talents of the DJM team showed competitive pace all weekend but was involved in many race incidents. Fletcher came home just outside the top ten with the younger talent definitely being a driver to watch.

Tassie Titles

After a fantastic weekend at Puckapunyal, Shaun Costello and Cody Donald made the trip over to Tassie for the Tasmanian Open State Titles. Shaun raced in the TAG 125 and Senior National class while Cody raced in the Junior National Heavy class.

After some fantastic results over the weekend while racing some tough competition, Shaun Costello brought home a blue plate in Senior National and a second place in TAG 125 light. A fantastic result by Shaun! Shaun has worked extremely hard to win his third state title in just over a year!

Cody Donald also had a great weekend, racing against the best in the country. Unfortunately after starting leading with a few laps to go Cody dropped a chain which resulted in a DNF. Cody has done himself, his team, supporters and sponsors extremely proud by holding his head high in such a devastating end to the weekend!

Congratulations to both Shaun and Cody on the fantastic weekend at Tasmanian State Titles!
