de Vries Wins World Championship!

Chiesa Corse driver Nyck De Vries (Zanardi/Parilla) has won the 2010 World Karting Championship for KF2. The young Dutchman, who is part of the McLaren Young Driver Development Program, started 3rd and beat home pole sitter Jordan Chamberlain (Tony Kart/TM) and Nicolaj Moller Madsen (Energy/TM).

Mitchell Gilbert (Kosmic/Vortex) finished 18th after a Pre-Final dnf forced him to start out of grid 33.

World Karting Championships

The karting World Championship for KF2 is underway in Spain this weekend. Australian Mitchell Gilbert qualified 39th and after some solid results in his three heats will line up on grid 20 for the Pre-Final.

British drivers are doing well, both in the wet qualifying and the dry heat races. Jordan Chamberlain will start pole (after qualifying 38th!), however, many eyes are on Nyck de Vries who, after qualifying 17th, won two heats and will start the pre-final from 10th.

Sera Captures Another National Championship

David Sera won his fifth Rotax Nationals today - the last four in a row - to move into third place in the all-time tally of AKA Australian Karting Championships. Sera made the most of a streaming wet track on Finals day in Ipswich to beat home Kyle Ensbey and Troy Bretherton.
